A Rich Heritage

Ashley Wilde Group is a UK family-run business with three generations of experience in the textiles industry.

Ashley Wilde evolved from humble beginnings in 1950 in London’s Whitechapel Road.

The company was founded by Nick Brodin, who had a keen eye for design and started wholesaling woven fabrics from Lancashire, Belgium and Italy.

Nick’s son, Ashley, joined the business as a teenager in 1961, when the business employed 15 people working from a 3,000 sq ft warehouse.

Ashley embraced the passionate Brodin work ethic and the company expanded it’s global trading partners to produce a higher quality and more innovative designs.

Expanding the Group

In the late 1980s, Nick Brodin retired and the business developed with a broader product range including fine woven and printed furnishings, and ready-made curtains.

In 1986, the company moved to larger premises in Bounds Green, North London, and the company name changed from Giltex of London to Ashley Wilde Designs, and created a design studio with a dedicated in-house team of talented designers.

New opportunities

With success came change, and in 1997 the business moved to Welham Green in Hertfordshire with 100,000 sq ft offices and a distribution centre to accommodate their growing team. It was then that the first print studio was developed under the new name.

Ashley’s son, Simon, joined the company in 1990 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2000.

In 2002, after a chance meeting with Linda Barker, a leading interior designer and TV personality, Ashley created branded bedding.

1990 - Expansion of the Brand Portfolio

In 2004, further celebrities were introduced into the portfolio including the iconic Twiggy who collaborated with the Design Studio to produce a bedding collection.

The company was then awarded the prestigious contract to supply Home Furnishings for the 2012 Olympics.

The portfolio grew from strength to strength with Global leading brands including Ted Baker, Orla Kiely and Kylie Minogue at Home.

Today - Family values

Having won multiple awards, the company continues to be recognised for exceptional quality and service and exports to over 100 countries.

The talented Ashley Wilde team continues to lead the interiors market with their exceptional design and attention to detail. With the Brodin family at the helm; Design, Style, Service and Innovation are key ingredients for the continued success of the business.
